FREE LESSONS ON WISDOM
Yes, it’s true.  A new women’s Sunday school class is starting on Sunday, April 27.  We will be reading and discussing “The 50 Favorite Proverbs” by Liz Curtis Higgs.  James 1:5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God…” and Proverbs is the book of wisdom from the wisest man who ever lived, King Solomon.

The class will start after the 9:00a service ends (about 10:10a) and will finish in time to attend the 11:00a service (about 10:45a).  Meet in Room 261 with your Bible, a smile, and a hunger to study the Word!

HEY, WHAT'S IN THERE?

Adventure.  Drama.  Deception.  Romance.  Betrayal.  Sacrifice. Challenges. Love.

Nope, it's not the latest box office smash hit.  It’s the BIBLE.  So many women have started to read the Bible on their own and screeched to a halt when they hit all the "begots."  It is hard!

But when we come together and dig in as a group, it's jam packed with inspiration ... that leads to TRANSFORMATION of our lives.  Grab a friend and come to this new 3-week overview of the Bible.  We'll talk about stories, why you should trust the Bible, where to look in the Bible, why it's more fun to study in a group, and much, much more.  This class will meet for three Wednesdays.

You can sign up at the Women’s Ministry kiosk in the Atrium or contact Cindy Swinney with questions.

HOSPITAL AND SHUT-IN VISITATIONS
If you have ever been a patient at one of our city’s hospitals or nursing homes then you likely received a visit from one of our staff or elders.  We recognize that these times can present both physical and spiritual struggles to individuals and families.  It’s our desire to come alongside of our people and pray with them when we are able.

This summer, while we are a bit short on staff, we are determined to continue this vital shepherding effort.  In order to accomplish this our elders have agreed to make additional calls to shepherd the flock as a part of our Shepherding Team.

- You can assist our staff and elders by letting us know in advance of your admittance for surgery, so that someone might be able to visit or call and pray with you.

- Two elders each weekday will make calls, while the others will join you in prayer.

- Two elders each month will make a visit to each of our shut-ins and nursing home residents.

- Our staff will continue to make calls to the hospitals, especially during crisis, and will attempt to see that each member/attender has a visit from one of our staff during their stay.

You can join us in praying for those who are hospitalized; in addition, you can join our PALs Ministry and be connected with someone who could use a friend to visit with on a regular basis. Call the office for more information.

BAD WEATHER CANCELATION PROCEDURES

Because we're in the season of frigid temperatures, snow and icy roads we thought this would be a great time to remind everyone what our cancelation procedures will be for our Sunday Worship Services and our Mid-Week Programming.

Sundays:

We will make a decision by 7:00a on if we will be canceling any of our Sunday morning services.

Mid-Week Programming:

We will make a decision by 4:00p on if we will be canceling our programming for the night.

* In the cases where LPS has canceled school because of bad weather conditions we will automatically consider our Mid-Week Programming to be canceled.

If the decision was made to cancel any of these programs we will make an announcement on both our website, and our Facebook Page by the times listed above.  If there is no mention of cancelations by then consider things to be on as scheduled.  You may call the church office at 402.467.4458 if you have any questions about cancelations due to bad weather after the times listed as well.
